Roderick Brown, 54, was fatally shot on May 2, 2024, at Dollies Playhouse, the strip club he owned at 6210 Forest Boulevard in Washington Park, Illinois. Officers were dispatched early that Thursday morning after a reported shooting; two people were wounded and taken to a hospital. Brown later died of his injuries and was identified by the St. Louis Medical Examiner’s office.

Brown’s wife, Teneisha Brown, described him as energetic, larger-than-life and driven by his dreams. Owning the club had been a long-held goal he achieved three years before his death. The Illinois State Police are handling the investigation; no suspects, arrests or trials have been announced.
