Victor Garcia was 27 when he was shot to death on October 14, 2023, at a residence in the 4N500 block of Church Road in an unincorporated area near Bensenville, Illinois. The shooting happened during a birthday party for homeowner Kevin K. Krenc. Tensions at the gathering reportedly centered on allegations that Garcia had stolen a pair of shoes, suggestions by Garcia to rob the homeowner of cocaine, and complaints about Garcia’s treatment of the homeowner’s girlfriend.
According to the investigation, Krenc, who was temporarily staying at the home, allegedly produced a rifle hidden in the garage and shot Garcia five times after Garcia entered the garage. Krenc then hid the weapon in an enclosed trailer on the driveway and fled. Deputies responding to a 911 call about an intoxicated man found Garcia and identified Krenc as the suspect. Krenc, 31, was taken into custody on October 17 and charged with one count of first-degree murder; pretrial release was denied at his October 20 First Appearance. His arraignment was scheduled for November 3.
If anyone attended that party or has information about what happened at the residence that night, please share what is known.
