On the night of January 24, 2024, 38-year-old Rishon Reeves-Linley was shot inside an apartment building in the 2000 block of Pearl Street in Anderson, Indiana. The city’s audio gunshot detection system alerted police at about 10:15 p.m., roughly six minutes before the first 911 call. Reeves-Linley was found by first responders with a gunshot wound, taken to a local hospital, and later died of his injuries. He was remembered by friends and family as a father of nine who was often the life of the party.
Witnesses reported hearing an argument inside the complex just before the shots, and neighbors pointed officers to the location. Detectives identified potential suspects within hours; by January 25, 2024, police had taken two people into custody. Thirty-year-old Cyrstin Cierha Walker faced a preliminary murder charge, and 19-year-old Isaiah Lee Crawford was charged with assisting a criminal, obstruction of justice, and weapons violations. Investigators later named four additional persons of interest—Robert Tapscott, Tina Ellis-Sanqunetti, Angela Claybaugh, and Amber Shelton—saying they were impeding the probe and avoiding contact with law enforcement.
Are there readers who knew Rishon or who have information about what happened that night?
