Timothy A. Sannito, 52, was shot and killed in the Ale Emporium parking lot in Greenwood, Indiana, on the evening of March 8, 2023. He had been dining with coworkers earlier that night and was seen entering his car at 9:19 p.m., parked beside a black SUV. Witnesses reported an argument between two men just after 9 p.m.; twenty seconds after Sannito got into his car the SUV backed out and Sannito fell to the ground with two gunshot wounds. He was taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis and died later that night.

Investigators used security footage and license-plate reader data to identify a black SUV and a person of interest, 25-year-old Marco Antonio Gonzalez of Greenwood. Gonzalez was arrested on March 13, 2023, and charged with murder. A probable cause affidavit described security video, the timing of events, a gun recovered from Gonzalez’s vehicle and post-arrest statements attributed to him. He was evaluated at a state hospital and later found competent to stand trial. As of May 2025 the court had not ruled on a defense motion to suppress the gun and certain statements.

Are there details about the parking lot interaction or witnesses that could help clarify what happened that night?
