Matthew Daniels was 17 when he was fatally shot on July Street in Natchitoches, Louisiana, on September 24, 2024. His death was one of three separate shootings that night in Natchitoches Parish during an eight-hour span, and it left a local family grieving after an episode of gun violence.

The Natchitoches Police Department identified two suspects in connection with the teenager’s homicide. By the end of September an arrest had been made: one juvenile was taken into custody. One person remained wanted and at large in connection with Matthew Daniels’ death.
