Marcus Leon Coleman, 23, was shot in the early morning hours of July 31, 2024, in the 1000 block of Noon Street in Rayne, Louisiana. Found with a gunshot wound to the stomach around 5:30 a.m., he was airlifted to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead from his injuries. Known to family as Bean, Coleman was a father of three with another child expected.

Investigators identified Andre Sagal as a suspect and sought him after issuing a warrant; authorities said the shooting was believed to have arisen from a dispute over a romantic interest. Sagal later turned himself in and was taken into custody. Coleman’s family and friends remember him as a beloved brother and son.
