On June 6, 2024, 35-year-old Gregory Earl Harvey Jr. was killed after a confrontation on North 3rd Street in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Responding officers found Harvey with gunshot wounds; he was taken to North Oaks Hospital and later died of his injuries.
Police arrested 59-year-old Kirk Arrington at the scene and charged him with second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons. Investigators later identified 42-year-old Ricky Lee Alexander, known as Pete, as a second person of interest; authorities allege Alexander beat Harvey before the shooting and removed the firearm used in the killing. A warrant was issued charging Alexander with obstruction of justice and second-degree battery.
Motive and the precise relationships between Harvey, Arrington, and Alexander have not been released. If anyone has information about Harvey, the events on North 3rd Street, or the whereabouts of Alexander, please share what is known with investigators.
