Isaac Baggett was a 16-year-old student at Bogalusa High School who was killed by gunfire in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 13, 2024. The shooting occurred around 2 a.m. in the 500 block of Union Avenue after a residence occupied by an unrelated family was struck by a barrage of bullets from multiple firearms of various calibers. Isaac was found outside the home with a gunshot wound to the head and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Bogalusa Police Department recovered three guns believed to have been used in the attack and said the shooting may have been retaliatory against Isaac or his family. Within days, three juvenile suspects — two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old — were arrested and booked into the Florida Parish Juvenile Detention Center on initial charges that included first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile. In May 2024 a Washington Parish grand jury indicted two of the youths, 15-year-olds Frank Parker and Jyhren Cotton, who face prosecution as adults on second-degree murder and multiple attempted second-degree murder counts; the 14-year-old’s legal status was not stated.

Did anyone in Bogalusa see or hear anything around 2 a.m. on April 13 that could shed light on what happened?
