On the night of September 29, 2023, 23-year-old Paige Gorne Ceasar was killed by gunfire while at a nightclub on Broad Street in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The shooting began during a violent altercation tied to a prior dispute involving one of the shooting victims and the suspects; three other people were injured and later released from a local hospital. Paige succumbed to her injuries and died.

Investigators identified two suspects soon after. Twenty-four-year-old Ryan Joseph Taylor was located by SWAT officers on October 6 at a residence in Sulphur and charged with one count of second-degree murder, principal; his bond was set at $1.5 million. An arrest warrant was served for 22-year-old Sebastian Isiah Latigue on one count of second-degree murder and three counts of attempted second-degree murder; his bond was $2.25 million. Latigue was already in custody after an unrelated arrest on October 3.

Paige, born July 12, 2000, was a Nimitz High School graduate studying to become a medical assistant and worked as the courtesy booth manager at Market Basket. She leaves behind a young son.
