Carl J. Vigers, 42, was shot and killed on March 20, 2023, in Eunice, Louisiana. He was standing outside an apartment complex at East Maple Avenue and South Beulah Street when gunfire struck him; he was taken to a local hospital and later died of his injuries.
The Eunice Police Department initially had no suspects, but within days two people were arrested: 21-year-old Leroy Freeman and a 15-year-old male, both booked as principals to first-degree murder. A few days later a third suspect, 17-year-old Demarion Levier, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and was to be tried as an adult. Early reports after the first two arrests indicated the shooter was still being sought; the later charge against Levier identifies him as the primary suspect in the fatal shooting.
No public information about the final dispositions of the cases against Levier, Freeman, or the juvenile has been reported. Does anyone have information about the night of March 20 or about the people involved?
