A Halloween-night celebration at the Central Station Bar and Grill in Dodge City turned deadly in the early hours of Sunday, October 29, 2023. At about 1:12 a.m., multiple 911 calls reported gunfire after an altercation at the bar on Wyatt Earp Boulevard. Officers found four men with gunshot wounds; 29-year-old Antonio Alberto Cabrera was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second victim, 28-year-old Abraham Morales-Santos, later died at a hospital. Two other men were wounded: a 40-year-old who was flown to Wichita with life-threatening injuries that later stabilized, and a 27-year-old who was treated and released. Investigators say an argument escalated and a suspect opened fire.
Authorities identified 36-year-old Ricardo Johary Cadena-Garcia of Dodge City as the suspect. He fled south in a white 2011 Dodge Ram pickup into Oklahoma, was located after suffering a blown front tire near Forgan, and was arrested without incident while waiting for assistance. He was held on a warrant for capital murder and related charges.
Did anyone at the bar that night see something that could help clarify how the fight started?
