Deewayne LaDonn Edwards was 19 when he was shot and killed in North Las Vegas on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 20, 2023. A recent Legacy High School graduate, he had hoped to play football at UNLV and become a chiropractor; family remembered him as joyful, a lover of dance, working out, and time with friends and relatives.

Edwards was walking home from a store on West Centennial Parkway, between North Commerce Street and Kitamaya Street, when he became one of three victims in a triple shooting. Two other 19-year-old victims escaped to a nearby residence and were taken to University Medical Center with nonfatal injuries; Edwards died at the scene. The North Las Vegas Police Department opened a homicide investigation, and in the days after the shooting no arrests had been announced.

If anyone saw what happened on West Centennial Parkway or has information that could help the family and investigators, please come forward.
