On October 31, 2008, 29-year-old Ceferino Valle was shot and killed at about 10:23 p.m. at the Leigh Meadow Apartments on Sunbeam Road in Jacksonville, Florida. Valle and a second victim, 22-year-old Jose Rodriquez, were both gunned down in what is believed to have been a possible robbery attempt.

The case remains unsolved and no suspects have been identified. Families of both victims continue to seek answers, and the case has been highlighted as a cold case to raise awareness.
