Ebony Faith Martinez, 23, was one of two people killed on September 30, 2024, when a black Cadillac SUV ran off the road into an arroyo near Siringo Road and Camino Consuelo in Santa Fe. Officers responding to a noise complaint about 11 p.m. found Martinez and 19-year-old Abraham Dominic Romo dead in the vehicle; both sustained at least one gunshot wound. Autopsies showed entry wounds to the back of the head with bullets exiting through the front in a downward trajectory.

Police encountered a man later identified as 23-year-old Manuel Joseph Martinez nearby, covered in blood and trying to flee. He was chased, detained, and a firearm was recovered. He was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and resisting and obstructing an officer. His defense raised self-defense through statements he made to police, while a judge ordered him held pending trial.

Ebony was born December 10, 2000, and is remembered by family as a devoted mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, and friend. Does anyone with information about the area that night or who knew Ebony or Abraham come forward?
