Hilda Mejias was 76 when she was killed in her Miami home on June 3, 2008. She was found under suspicious circumstances and investigators classified the case as a homicide because of the nature of her injuries.

Miami-Dade authorities include Mejias’s death among cold cases they continue to review. The Cold Case Squad has been re-examining unsolved homicides with newer forensic tools such as DNA analysis in hopes of generating leads. Her case is still open; anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers or the Miami-Dade Homicide Bureau.
