Tammie Lee Tschappat, 38, was the victim of a fatal shooting linked to a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office homicide file numbered 389652. The incident is tied to 2945 Lucoma Drive in Jacksonville, with the homicide entry dated April 23, 2008, and separate death and obituary records listing her date of death as May 6, 2008. The record identifies a gun or firearm as the cause but contains no narrative explaining the gap between the April 23 report and her May 6 death or describing how the shooting occurred, how many times she was struck, whether there were witnesses, or what motive—if any—was considered.

The entry lists the suspect as unknown and at large and classifies the case as unsolved. Tschappat’s survivors included her mother Beverly Burge, daughters Heather Trout and Jammie Trout, and sisters Tina and Terrie Strickland; a graveside service was scheduled for May 12, 2008, at Brandy Branch Cemetery in Baldwin.

Does anyone who knew Tammie or who was in the Lucoma Drive area in late April or early May 2008 have information to share?
