Kardell Lowery Jr. was 29 and a father of two when he was shot dead on the morning of Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Officers responded shortly after 6 a.m. to the Hampshire House Apartments on Fifth Street SW in Warren after a 911 call reporting a shooting. Inside an apartment they found Lowery with multiple gunshot wounds; emergency medical technicians pronounced him dead at the scene.
Investigators charged two men, Tyree Brown and Michael Williamson, and a Trumbull County grand jury returned indictments for both including two counts of aggravated murder and two counts of aggravated burglary with firearm specifications; Brown also faced a weapons-under-disability count. A jury found Tyree Brown guilty of all five counts at his trial; he was sentenced to 36 years to life and classified as a violent offender.
Lowery is remembered by family as devoted to his sons Amariun and Adrienne Williamson, fond of basketball, football and chess, and known as Lowe for his jokes, music and stylish shoes. Does anyone who knew Kardell or was in that neighborhood that morning have information to share?
