Robert Dean Lewis, 67, of McDermott, Ohio, was fatally shot in the early morning hours of June 30, 2024, at a residence on Euton Road. Responders arrived after a neighbor reported hearing gunfire and found Lewis on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds; he was airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital and died shortly after arrival.

Authorities quickly identified and arrested 60-year-old Holly Euton-McGhee, who is reported to be Lewis’s girlfriend. She called 911 and admitted to the shooting and has been charged with aggravated murder, felonious assault, and obstructing official business. Sheriff David Thoroughman said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges could follow as more details emerge.

The circumstances leading to the shooting remain unclear. Anyone who heard or saw anything at the Euton Road residence that morning or has other information is asked to come forward.
