Jonte Davis, a 33-year-old U.S. Postal Service employee from Warren, Ohio, was shot and killed on March 2, 2024. Around 1:44 PM police responded to multiple 911 calls about gunfire and found Davis inside his postal van with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Trumbull Regional Medical Center but died shortly after arrival.

Witnesses said a dark gray pickup truck pulled alongside Davis’s postal van and a passenger fired several shots into the vehicle. Davis managed to drive a short distance before crashing near Olive Street and Scott Street; neighbors saw the truck speeding away. Police located a vehicle believed to be involved at a Maryland Avenue NE residence and interviewed several people, but no arrests had been announced. Authorities indicated they believed Davis and his assailant or assailants were acquainted.
