Brandon Reed, 51, was shot and killed in the early morning hours of July 3, 2023, in the 1900 block of South Feederle Drive SE in Warren, Ohio. Warren police responded to reports of shots fired just before 2:00 a.m. and found Reed with multiple gunshot wounds; he was taken to Trumbull Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead shortly after.

Witnesses reported seeing the shooter flee in an orange Charger. As of initial reports, no arrests had been announced and Warren police detectives had opened a homicide investigation, asking anyone with information to contact Detective Nicole Smith. City officials including Safety Services Director Eddie Colbert expressed concern and urged community cooperation.

The killing occurred amid a string of recent violent incidents in Warren that prompted discussion of additional public-safety measures, such as assistance from the sheriff’s office or state troopers and the possible use of surveillance cameras and license plate readers.
