Joshua Reed, 17, of Portsmouth, Ohio, died at Southern Ohio Medical Center on May 31, 2023. Born April 4, 2006, to James and Jessica, Joshua’s death is reported to involve gun violence; local coverage described it as a shooting and he is listed in the National Gun Violence Memorial.

A suspect was taken into custody the evening of the incident; 911 dispatchers recorded information at 4:49 pm that day. The suspect named in reports is Antonio Blake Milar, who was assigned a public defender and whose case was referred to the Scioto County Grand Jury to consider murder charges.
