Jennoro Juan Elmore Jr., known as ManMan, was 23 when he was shot at a hotel at 30 N. Plaza Blvd. in Chillicothe, Ohio, on January 10, 2023. Officers were dispatched about 1:02 PM after reports of gunfire; investigators say the shooter fired from the hotel’s second floor. Elmore was critically wounded, taken to Adena Regional Medical Center, and later died of his injuries.

A suspect was apprehended. On January 20, 2023, the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office reported a special session grand jury indictment charging Marvan Woodfork with two counts of murder under Sections 2903.02(A) and (B) of the Ohio Revised Code, both special felonies. Elmore’s family remembered him for his laugh, smile and gentle nature; he graduated from Pickerington Central High School in 2018, played on the men’s basketball team and had a basketball scholarship to Columbus State University.
