Linton Walker was remembered as a loyal friend, devoted father and an athletic young man nicknamed Man because he was short but strong. He played football and loved baseball, drawing scouting attention in high school, and later sold Jordan Brand clothing for work. He is described as having a great smile, a sharp sense of humor and a habit of wearing a particular style of t-shirt.

Linton last spoke with his sister Gina on March 3, 2007, about plans to attend a family cookout the next day for a birthday. On March 4, 2007, while returning from a work meeting, he was shot and killed by an unidentified suspect in the 5700 block of Lenox Avenue in Jacksonville, Florida. His body was found near the then-Lenox Court Apartments after family members grew concerned when he did not respond to calls and texts.

The case remains unsolved and has been labeled cold; a $3,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction. If anyone knew Linton or has information about that day, please contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office or First Coast Crime Stoppers.
