On the evening of October 10, 2024, 24-year-old Dominique Hodge of Washington, D.C., was shot multiple times inside a Foot Locker on the 3700 block of Branch Avenue in Hillcrest Heights, Maryland, at about 5:50 p.m. The store was occupied by other customers and employees; no one else was physically harmed. Hodge was pronounced dead at the scene.
Prince George’s County Police identified three suspects and later saw three men matching those descriptions about half a mile from the store. When officers approached, the men fled on foot. Nineteen-year-old Andres Rodriguez-Corona of Waldorf was apprehended and found with a handgun. Around 11:25 p.m. that night, 22-year-old Carl Sanders of Washington, D.C., was arrested during a traffic stop in Temple Hills; two unserialized firearms described as ghost guns were seized from the vehicle. Authorities say Hodge was intentionally targeted and a third suspect is being sought; the investigation remains active.
Did anyone in the Hillcrest Heights or Temple Hills area see activity or individuals near the Foot Locker around 5:45–6:00 p.m. on October 10?
