Antonio Tony C. Bell, 43, was killed in a parking lot dispute in Temple Hills, Maryland on the afternoon of August 18, 2024. Officers found Bell in the 3300 block of Huntley Square Drive suffering gunshot wounds; first responders pronounced him dead at the scene. A second man at the location sustained a gunshot wound that was not considered life-threatening.
Police quickly identified a suspect and the Fugitive Unit apprehended 18-year-old Izayah Matthews of Temple Hills later that night. Authorities say they believe the shooting arose from a dispute between Matthews and Bell and that Matthews acted alone; Matthews has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and other related offenses. Bell’s family described him as a devoted family man and a fundraiser was started to help cover funeral expenses; vigils and memorials were held in the community.
If anyone witnessed the shooting or has information that could help the ongoing investigation, please share what is known with law enforcement.
