Keion Damont McKinney, 34, was killed in a targeted shooting on the evening of June 14, 2024, in Severn, Maryland. Police say McKinney had stepped out of a townhome in the 1600 block of Meade Village Circle at about 7:20 p.m. when a male suspect confronted him in the backyard and fired a single shot. Officers found McKinney behind the building; he was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy ruled the death a homicide from a single gunshot wound to the head.
Homicide detectives reviewed nearby surveillance and say it shows the shooter firing the shot and then walking away toward a black 2004 Lincoln Navigator with distinctive exterior damage. Investigators linked an Instagram account under the name Deandre Sharps that advertised murder for hire, and say the shooter expected payment and marijuana for committing the killing. On July 6, 2024, Baltimore police arrested Deondre Tywon Sharps on an unrelated stolen-vehicle case; officers recovered a handgun in the car that ballistics testing later matched to McKinney’s killing. Sharps was charged in Anne Arundel County with the murder on September 10, 2024.
Does anyone have information about McKinney’s movements or the black 2004 Lincoln Navigator seen near Meade Village Circle on the evening of June 14, 2024?
