Victoria Patterson was last believed seen alive on September 29, 1993; her mother reported her missing on October 14, 1993 after being unable to reach her. Victoria was known to frequent small local bars and to hitchhike often; her mother described her as very trusting and fearless.
On March 10, 1995, Victoria’s remains were found in a shallow grave in the clay pits off Highway 390 in Panama City. The only item recovered with the body was a piece of rope used to bind her. The rope, commonly used for boat rigging, had blue shrinkwrap on the ends to prevent fraying; both the rope and the shrinkwrap were purchased in Bay County.
The case remains unsolved. If readers have information about Victoria’s disappearance or death, please contact Panhandle Crime Stoppers at (850) 785-TIPS (8477).
