Tyrese Malik Williams was 20 when he was fatally shot outside his Bon Air Avenue home in Brooklyn Park on March 4, 2024. The attack occurred about 2:40 p.m., shortly after a school bus had dropped off elementary students. Williams had just stepped outside when multiple assailants opened fire, striking him numerous times. He was taken to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and later died.
The shooters fled in a stolen dark gray Toyota Sienna. That evening, police located the vehicle in Baltimore’s Edgecomb neighborhood and arrested five people; two handguns were recovered. Eighteen-year-old Dicouisey Orlando Wilson and 17-year-old Dabron Tyreek Johnson were charged with murder; Johnson is being charged as an adult. A 20-year-old, Tykese Markel Hammond, was arrested on an unrelated motor vehicle theft warrant. A 17-year-old and a 15-year-old were released to guardians without charges. Authorities say they do not believe the shooting was random; no motive has been publicly disclosed.
Those who knew Williams described him as loving, outgoing, and goofy. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact homicide detectives.
