Anthony Day Roberts, 24, was shot and killed on the evening of November 8, 2023, in the 6300 block of Auth Road in Camp Springs, Maryland. Roberts and a friend had gone to a nearby 7-Eleven for snacks and were walking home around 9:40 p.m. when two masked men approached and demanded their belongings. The pair tried to run; both were shot. Roberts was found lying in the road and was pronounced dead at the scene. His friend survived with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Roberts worked as a security guard and was the father of a one-year-old daughter. Authorities described the encounter as an attempted robbery and said the victims did not know the suspects. Three people from nearby Suitland — Chanel Slaughter, 29, Deandre Wilson, 34, and Joseph Lewis, 36 — were arrested and charged in connection with the attack and held at the county jail.

Does anyone in the Camp Springs or Suitland area have information about that night or the people involved?
