On the afternoon of September 5, 2023, 19-year-old Davier Tucker of Fort Washington was shot in the 2900 block of Brinkley Road in Temple Hills, Maryland. Officers responded to reports of a shooting at about 2:40 p.m.; Tucker was taken to a local hospital but died there from his wounds several hours later. Davier was Black.

Investigators determined the victim and the suspects were known to each other. Detectives identified two suspects and say one person fired the shots while the other served as the getaway driver. On September 12, 2023, police announced the arrests of two 18-year-olds: Carlos Jordan of Temple Hills, charged with first-degree murder and related counts as the alleged shooter, and Desmann Aikens of Capitol Heights, charged as an accessory after the fact. Both were placed in the Department of Corrections’ custody.
