Kevin Lamont Jackson, 34, was found dead in the driver’s seat of his car in the 100 block of Somers Cove in Crisfield, Maryland, in the early morning hours of August 20, 2023. A Crisfield police officer on routine patrol discovered the vehicle shortly before 2:30 a.m.; Jackson was suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead. An autopsy was ordered at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore.

The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit took over the investigation at the Crisfield department’s request, with assistance from the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, the Maryland Gun Center, and the Somerset County State’s Attorney’s Office. Investigators executed a search warrant on the vehicle and processed the scene. Police have identified a person of interest on surveillance footage from Somers Cove shortly after the shooting, described wearing a white tank top and dark shorts. No arrests or suspects have been announced; as of late 2025 the case remained unsolved.

Kevin Jackson is remembered by family as a devoted father; his mother had expressed concern for his safety in Crisfield and urged him to leave the area. If anyone saw activity in the Somers Cove area that night or recognizes the person on the footage, please come forward with information.
