On the afternoon of February 13, 2023, gunfire erupted on Shelton Court in Indian Head, Maryland. The wounded trio drove several miles and were found near Route 210 and Laurel Drive.

Charles County Sheriff’s officers found Xavien Bert Carroll deceased at the scene. Amonte Martez Green was taken to a hospital but died a short time later. The third man was transported to a hospital in serious condition.

Detectives arrested 19-year-old Jayden Kevin Craig of Indian Head on February 14, 2023, in Pomfret, Maryland, and charged him with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and first-degree assault in connection with the shooting. At the time of the arrest, Craig was on probation for an unrelated firearms charge from June 2022 and was held without bond.
