I can't stop thinking about the community impact in Immokalee around the time of Perfecto Manera's murder. It seems like the small town was already struggling with so much, then add this tragic stabbing to the mix. The migrant workers were trying to make a living under such tough conditions, and it makes me wonder how many others were also vulnerable to similar violence. From what I've read, it sounds like crime was rampant, and people like Perfecto were at such a disadvantage. It hits home how these societal pressures could contribute to such a heinous act going unsolved for all these years. The fact that his case still doesn't have answers is such a reminder of how forgotten some communities can be. Hoping for some kind of breakthrough or lead that might finally bring a slice of peace to his family and friends. They deserve that closure after all this time. Anyone else shocked by how cases like this can remain in the shadows for so long?
