On a Sunday afternoon in early September 2024, 31-year-old Dambrelle Thomas was fatally shot inside a residence on George F. West Boulevard in Natchez, Mississippi. The shooting followed an earlier dispute at the same house between a 17-year-old male and an adult man. The teenager left, later returned armed with what authorities believe was a modified 12-gauge shotgun, and fired inside the residence, striking Thomas in the arms and upper chest. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
After the shooting the suspect fled and barricaded himself inside the old Thompson school building. Natchez police surrounded the location and, with the assistance of the suspect’s father, were able to de-escalate and secure a peaceful surrender. The 17-year-old was taken into custody and is expected to be charged as an adult; the investigation remains ongoing.
Does anyone in Natchez have information about the events on George F. West Boulevard that afternoon or about the people involved?
