Tracy Tyler Weaver, a 46-year-old nurse from Kosciusko, Mississippi, died from a gunshot wound at her home on August 28, 2023. Early reports listed her age differently, but obituary records give a birth date of January 12, 1977. She was associated with the Martha Jo Leslie State Veterans Home and involved with Williamsville Baptist Church; she was married to Bryan Weaver and they had children.

Deputies from the Attala County Sheriff’s Department responded shortly after 10 p.m. and found Weaver dead inside the residence. Initial comments from the sheriff described the shooting as appearing accidental, but the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation joined the probe and Weaver’s body was sent to Arkansas for autopsy. Investigators planned to present evidence to an Attala County grand jury to determine whether criminal conduct was involved.

More than a year after the shooting, an Attala County grand jury indicted her husband, Bryan Weaver, on a charge of first-degree murder. He was taken into custody in early February 2025 and booked into the Leake County Correctional Facility, with bond reported at $200,000. The indictment is an accusation; the criminal case remained unresolved and was pending trial as of the last reporting.

Did anyone in Kosciusko or Attala County know Tracy or have information about events on the night of August 28, 2023?
