Kyharie Rodgers, an 18-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on Dr. Deborrah Hyde Avenue in Laurel, Mississippi, on March 11, 2023. The shooting was described as a drive-by incident that resulted in his death.

Local investigators arrested two men identified as Nathaniel Tayes and his brother Johnari Tayes in connection with the shooting. Both were taken into custody and brought before Jones County Justice Court, but the presiding judge found insufficient probable cause to bind them over to a grand jury for indictment. The charges against both men were dismissed.

There is no information about other suspects or additional arrests in Rodgers’s death. Did anyone in Laurel have information about Kyharie’s movements or who might have been involved that night?
