A late September gunfight near a home on Griffin Road in Woodruff, South Carolina, left three men dead. Jeremy Lee Faulkner, 34, was killed on September 27, 2024, along with 38-year-old Paul Higgins of Woodruff and 22-year-old Nicolas Long of Greenville. The shooting began about 8 p.m. and reportedly grew out of a dispute over permission to hunt on a particular parcel of land. A fourth person was wounded and taken to a hospital in a private vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries.
Relatives of Jeremy Faulkner say he died defending his friends; witnesses included family members of the deceased. Deputies from the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office found the three men dead at the scene and later opened an investigation. After reviewing the incident, authorities announced no charges would be filed and the case was closed. The community and families continue to mourn those killed that night.
If anyone witnessed the confrontation or has information about who was on the land that evening, please share what is known.
