Dominique Greer Jr., a 19-year-old Black male from North Charleston, South Carolina, was shot and killed on September 5, 2024, at about 12:30 a.m. He was leaving the Marathon gas station at 3543 Dorchester Road when a blue pickup truck pulled up. Several people wearing black got out and opened fire, striking Greer multiple times before fleeing in the truck.
Security cameras at the scene recorded the attack and show the vehicle and suspects, but the North Charleston Police Department has not publicly identified anyone. The blue pickup was not recovered immediately after the shooting, and police have made no arrests; the case remains unsolved one year after the killing.
Greer’s family — who remember him as a son, brother, and uncle — have held memorial events such as balloon releases and spoken publicly about their grief and frustration with the slow pace of the investigation. If anyone has information about the shooting, the vehicle, or the people involved, please come forward to assist the investigation.
