Anthony Hudson, 57, was fatally shot at a residence on Logan Avenue in Hartsville, South Carolina, on the evening of April 21, 2024. Officers responding to a distress call about 8:30 p.m. found Hudson with a gunshot wound; he was taken to Carolina Pines hospital but died of his injuries.

On April 22, police arrested 47-year-old Margie Lee Lighty in connection with the shooting. She was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime and booked into the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center, held without bond. Hartsville Police Chief Byron Snellgrove offered condolences to Hudson’s family and praised officers and detectives for the prompt arrest.
