Joseph Allen ’Joey’ Keenan, 52, was found dead on the front porch of his Warrenville, South Carolina home at 2032 Augusta Road on January 31, 2024. An autopsy concluded he died from a gunshot wound and Aiken County investigators have ruled his death a homicide.

Authorities say Keenan encountered 28-year-old Zackery Taylor Smith on his property; during the confrontation 26-year-old Austin Blake Satcher is accused of shooting Keenan in the back. Investigators allege the two then burglarized Keenan’s home, taking his work truck, tools, and a trailer. Both men were charged with murder and burglary, and Satcher faced an additional weapons charge; both defendants reportedly had prior arrests for weapons and drug offenses.
