On New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2023, 19-year-old K’Ron Eliah Fox was fatally shot at the Drinking Class Sports Bar and Grill in Little River, South Carolina. The shooting at the Waterway Plaza off Highway 9 also killed 20-year-old James Myron Bellamy, who died after being taken to a nearby hospital, and wounded two other people who suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Fox was pronounced dead at the scene.

K’Ron Fox was described by family as an intuitive, caring young man who loved music and rapping and who treasured time with relatives and friends in both North and South Carolina. A wrongful death lawsuit filed by his mother, Kalezza Fox, alleges the bar’s owners knew of prior gang activity and violent incidents at the establishment and failed to take adequate safety measures; the suit names the bar, its former owners, the shopping plaza owner, and two unidentified John Doe shooters.
