A dispute between rival groups in the parking lot of a Ridgeland sports bar turned deadly in the early morning hours of December 17, 2023. Twin brothers Trajaan and Tranquan Fripp, both 24, were shot at the Sports Baba Bar in the Riverwalk Business Park; Trajaan was pronounced dead at the scene and Tranquan later died at a local hospital. Two other people were wounded in the incident.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division took over the investigation because the victims and possible suspects lived outside Jasper County. Arrest warrants say surveillance video from a nearby business captured the shooting, and witness statements implicated three men from Beaufort. Jamar Smith-Hagood was arrested December 20, 2023; Andrew Lee Grober II was arrested January 26, 2024; and Tayquan GMel Lampkin was arrested February 2, 2024. All three face two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, and two counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, with prosecution by the 14th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

Are there witnesses or anyone with details about the altercation that led to this shooting?
