Steven Grant, a 32-year-old Black man from Savannah, was fatally shot on April 28, 2016, outside a residence on Kandlewood Drive near Cindy Avenue. Officers arrived just after 5 a.m. and found him critically wounded. He was taken to Memorial University Medical Center and died that afternoon.
The same burst of gunfire also wounded another man, described only as a 28-year-old, turning an ordinary neighborhood morning into a scene of chaos. Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police said Violent Crimes detectives were investigating and appealed to the public for information, but the updates available in the days after the shooting did not identify a motive or name a shooter.
No publicly reported arrest, charge, trial, or conviction linked to Grant’s killing could be verified in the material reviewed; the investigation was described as ongoing and detectives were seeking leads. If anyone knew Steven, was in that area that morning, or has information that could help the investigation, please come forward.
