Brandon Champion, 25, of Atlanta was shot and killed in the early hours of April 17, 2016, after a trip to Savannah, Georgia, for the Orange Crush festival. He was found with gunshot wounds on the shoulder of the Truman Parkway near Montgomery Cross Road and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died. Champion was a father to a three-year-old daughter; his family said he went on the trip with friends and never returned.

Savannah Police detectives said they do not believe the Orange Crush event was connected to the shooting. Despite public pleas from the family and law enforcement, no arrests have been announced, no suspects have been publicly identified, and the case remains unsolved as investigators continue to seek information.
