Xzavier Antwan Robertson, 19, was found fatally shot on East Surrey Drive in North Charleston, South Carolina, in the early morning of October 11, 2023. North Charleston Police discovered his body at about 2:45 a.m.; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities opened a homicide investigation but have released few details and say no suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been made.

Xzavier’s mother, Sebrina Washington, says she believes he was targeted because his identity as a witness in an unrelated murder investigation five years earlier was compromised. Washington asserts Xzavier was interviewed by police at age 14 without her consent and contends his identity should have been protected. She and the Racial Justice Network are seeking answers and accountability while the investigation remains active.
