Two brothers were found shot to death inside their Hanahan apartment in early October 2023. Richmond A. Fishburne, 32, and his younger brother Dominique J. Fishburne, 30, were discovered by officers who responded to a shooting call at about 9:30 p.m.; the apartment door was slightly ajar and a smell of gunpowder was reported at the scene. The Berkeley County coroner confirmed both deaths were from gunshot wounds.

Hanahan Police, with assistance from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, opened a double homicide investigation and have said they believe the killings were targeted rather than random. If anyone knew Richmond or Dominique, their routines, associates, or saw anything unusual at the South Point complex that night, please come forward with information.
