On April 18, 2024, the body of 36-year-old Cynthia Chante’ Cint Solomon, a Black woman from Hopewell, Virginia, was found near the riverbank at Roslyn Landing Park in Colonial Heights. Colonial Heights Police determined she died of a gunshot wound and ruled her death a homicide. Friends and family remembered Solomon as a mother of two daughters who had a personality of gold and who enjoyed cooking, doing hair, and caring for children in her community.
Investigators worked the case for several weeks. On May 8, 2024, authorities announced they had identified a suspect and obtained arrest warrants. In coordination with the Atlanta Police Department, 57-year-old Raymont Tasco of Hopewell was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was taken into custody in Clayton County, Georgia, pending extradition to Virginia.
Does anyone have information about Cynthia, her movements in April, or anything seen at Roslyn Landing Park that morning?
