On Sunday afternoon, December 21, 2014, 24-year-old Jamal Teleast Elliott was fatally shot on the front porch of a residence in the Yamacraw Village housing complex in Savannah, Georgia. The shooting occurred about 2:39 p.m.; when officers arrived Elliott was pronounced dead at the scene and his death was ruled a homicide.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department Violent Crimes detectives canvassed the area and asked the public for help, providing a tip line and the anonymous CrimeStoppers program for anyone with information. Despite those appeals the case went cold; by early 2015 the Savannah Morning News listed Elliott among the city’s unsolved homicides and no suspects have been publicly identified.

Anyone who knew Jamal, was in Yamacraw Village that afternoon, or has information that could help investigators is urged to come forward.
