On the afternoon of July 27, 2023, police in Virginia Beach responded to a shooting in the 800 block of Lake Edward Drive at about 4:02 p.m. Officers found 26-year-old Josiah Josh Chambers with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital by emergency personnel and later died of his injuries.

The incident was investigated as a homicide. Authorities arrested 24-year-old Alicia Coleman at the scene and charged her with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
