On the morning of May 6, 2023, the body of 25-year-old Tyosha Tanique Mitchell of Richmond was found by a jogger on the side of Old Williamsburg Road in Yorktown, Virginia. Investigators determined she had been fatally shot multiple times and that she was struck eight times during an attack in which at least 14 shots were fired. Mitchell was a mother of two.
Authorities say the killing was tied to gang activity involving the Almighty Black P. Stone Nation, also known as the Mad Stone Bloods. Investigators reported that several gang members had gone to Mitchell’s Richmond apartment in the early hours of May 6 and assaulted her for a gang infraction; a witness described Mitchell falling to the ground and curling into a fetal position before the beating continued. The assailants left and returned about an hour later, forced Mitchell into a vehicle, and drove her to the remote York County location where she was shot.
Five people have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and murder. Does anyone have information about Mitchell, her family, or the events that night that could help fill in the timeline?
